Liesel Meminger, or in other words, "The Book Thief" is a young girl living in a town in 1939 Germany, stealing books with her best friend, Rudy. As she goes through many adventures and meets new friends, times of danger and sadness are approaching as WWII will leave her life never the same again.
The book's ending was too depressing. All the mixed adventure and drama was just too much. Yes, we see what happens to Liesel ad her friend Max, but what happens to the rest of the characters? And how does Liesel's life change after the twist ending? Does she get new friends? Does she still go to school? These are all unanswered. Still, Mark using the Reaper as the narrator shows that even death itself has a heart.
