Maximum Ride is a 14 year old girl who has been genetically modified to have wings. She is the leader of the Flock, a group of avian mutants like her. But when one of the flock is kidnapped, Max will do anything to get her back.
I thought the book (and the rest of the series) is something truly amazing. I've never read anything like it. It's the type of book that is addictive: the kind that makes you stay up late and read under the covers with a flashlight. The kind that makes you praise the day the author was born. Welcome to the Genius Fold, Patterson!
As for Max,well, she's THE character you want to be. Funny, Strong, Fierce, Smart, she's just amazing.
